Mel Landaluce

Business Development Director

Malisa “Mel” Landaluce is part Owner of A Promise of Hope, Inc.  She is the Business Development Director, and as such, she spends much of her day interacting with the citizens of Boise and the surrounding communities, enthusiastically sharing the story of A Promise of Hope, and the unique program we are bringing to this area of Idaho.

Mel has had more than 16 years of experience in the business world, the majority of which has involved marketing and public relations.  In addition to her professional life, Mel spends a great deal of time actively involved in the community.  She has spent a number of years volunteering her time, serving as an Idaho Diplomat, as well as a USJC Senator.  Her favorite volunteer activity involves her Newfoundland dog, Moses, or “Mo” as he is affectionately known.  She and Mo spend as much time as possible visiting nursing homes, assisted living homes, and retirement homes, making new friends and spreading smiles wherever they can through pet therapy.

Mel has a contagious enthusiasm for educating the public about the importance of hospice care.  She knows that even with the increasing number of hospice programs in the valley, only 30% of those who qualify for hospice are actually being served.  Until we can reach more patients and families dealing with a terminal illness, she knows her job will not be done.

Mel has been married for 13 years, and she has two beautiful children.  She is an Idaho native with a deep appreciation for the beauty of this state, and the people who live here.  She sees her involvement with A Promise of Hope as her way of giving something back to a community that she calls home.
